Nuisance Deer
There are numerous reports about deer which eat shrubs, flowers and vegetables. It appears that there is a simple solution to avoid or reduce the consumption of cultivated plants by wild animals (apart from shooting the deer).
The basic reason why deer (and other animals) are attracted to such plants is probably because these plants tend to concentrate needed basic and/or trace elements in higher concentrations than are to be found in local wild plants.
A solution might be to make up a mixture of these essentials and to make sure that the deer have an opportunity to consume them. One way would be to make them up in a liquid form and then to spray this mixture on edible grasses (or on palatable weeds). It might help to add powdered bone. Also salt licks might help.
